No matter how hard it is, promise yourself to never lose your voice.

Being caught up in prolong discomfort may bewilder us from distinguishing the good that comes out of it. Is it something you can tolerate? Is it the new normal you have to live up to? Do you need to change yourself to fit in?

those questions may pay a visit ever so often, that the line gets blurry.

til you forgot to ask yourself, does it help you to grow?

The conflicting voice inside your head shall never overshadow the uneasiness felt within your heart. When we are so consumed with the voice outside us, the intimidating glare from other people when we make uncommon decisions, the undermining comments, opinions, which drag us down, never, never let them defeat the voice inside your heart.

they were not there when you have troubled sleeping at normal hours.

they were not there when you had to calm yourself from crying river.

they were not there when you could not stop questioning yourself,

are my feelings valid? do I deserve to, even, feel like this?

There is a constant battle in befriending the unfamiliarity. In embracing the changes in ourselves, in the people we used to confide. Every day, we discover yet another layer of ourselves, we did not know existed before. The strength you show, the warmth you radiate, is not a work that happens overnight. It’s the culmination of countless sleepless nights, constant battle with the feeling of unworthiness, struggle to heal from a deep, deep wound, and of overcoming your fears to arrive at another end of the bridge.

You may lose count of how many times you feel at the edge, when the world around you feels like it’s going to crumble in any minute. You started to lose count, just how many times you managed to get through all of it, alive. when you forgot how to breathe, when you forgot how many cherish your presence.

The strength, courage, warmth, that resides in yourself, is the outcome of your daring the vulnerability.

And so I write this for myself, if one day I feel defeated by the noises inside of me, please remember to look within. Ask your heart what really feels right. After all, we are going to heal from the bruises we got from daring greatly.

To take a big, big step that does not seem right to other people.

To take a big, big leap of faith.

You’ve got yourself. You do you, you’ll be fine, Anisa.
